Methodology and Didactics: Seminar Social Competence

Exercises on self-assessment and perception of others are the introduction to the social competence seminar. In a pleasant learning environment, trainer input in the form of presentations etc., individual tasks and subsequent discussions in the group are used to develop course content and methods of social competence. During the seminar, participants are given the opportunity to present case studies from their everyday professional life in order to develop and test behavioural options with appropriate practical relevance. If necessary, video recordings and analyses will be used. You will also receive documents that complete the methodical, didactic implementation of this event. The group size does not exceed the maximum number of participants of 8.

Target group: Social competence seminar

The seminar Social Competence is aimed at specialists and managers who would like to better understand their fellow human beings with empathy and social competence on the one hand. On the other hand, the goal of this group of participants is to use this better understanding to sensitise, inspire and convince others for their own concerns. This seminar deals with relationships between colleagues, superiors, customers, service providers and all stakeholders of a company.

What skills will I learn in the Social Competence seminar?

Social competence consists of interdisciplinary skills such as communication skills, conflict behaviour, self-perception and perception of others, management of emotions and perception. The sum of all these competences enables not only a confident and convincing appearance, but at the same time a humane and needs-oriented interaction with others.

The increased ability to communicate supports a socially competent person to communicate with others in such a way that they feel emotionally addressed. Those emotions are addressed that trigger positive, activating stimuli.

Conflict management optimised through social competence allows for de-escalating and conflict-avoiding behaviour in challenging situations. In this way, it can be avoided that feelings and associations are triggered in the interlocutor that cause resistance or aversion.

Finally, the comparison between self-image and the image of others ensures recognition of which personal behavioural patterns are expected by fellow human beings. This step offers the opportunity to reflect on the extent to which certain expectations should be aroused and consequently fulfilled.

In summary, the seminar Social Competence offers the possibility to acquire skills that enable a cooperation that is tailored to individual needs.

For whom does the Social Competence Seminar represent added value?

The professional relevance of social competence extends across all sectors and hierarchical levels, as it relates to the shaping of interpersonal relationships. Managers, team leaders and professionals with HR responsibilities need to be socially competent in order to motivate their staff and exercise leadership empathically. A successful leader needs techniques to respond to the different personalities of employees. Salespeople need the skills to inspire and win customers. Finally, technical staff depend on this area of competence so that teamwork and collaboration between colleagues can take place without conflict. Seminar participants learn in the Social Competence Seminar, analogous to the concept of a Group Social Competence Training (GSK), how they can support others and offer added value to their interlocutors; as a result, everyone involved benefits.

Call us today to receive your individual offer for a Social Competence Seminar. The Dr. G. Kitzmann Academy conducts these face-to-face events both in-house and openly. The course is conducted by a coach, lecturer or mediator from our team who is suitable for you.
