Background information on the whistleblower reporting centre

Companies with more than 50 employees based within the EU are subject to the provisions of the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG). From January 2024, companies with 50 to 249 employees will be obliged to introduce an anonymous whistleblower system. There is a transitional period for these companies that lasts until December 2023. On the other hand, companies with a workforce of at least 250 employees are immediately obliged to implement the legal requirements.
