Conflict management seminar: How do conflicts arise?

The causes of difficult conflict situations can be complex. On the one hand, conflicts involving a misunderstanding between employees can have a simple and easily resolved cause. Situations become more complex if the factual and relationship levels overlap, as can be the case in a power play between colleagues, for example. Finally, an initially harmless conflict can be unnecessarily escalated and complicated by unskilful dialogue and a lack of empathy. 5 steps in the conflict management seminar to resolve conflicts

The first and central step in conflict resolution is to investigate the causes. Every conflict exists for a reason and comes to light due to an event. The trigger must be diagnosed and analysed at an early stage. This makes it possible to prevent conflicts from escalating or to de-escalate them, depending on the level of escalation. It is then important to start the dialogue and address the problems identified in order to give colleagues the opportunity to communicate their individual attitudes and ideas. Both mediation and conflict coaching can be used to work out solutions that do justice to the different ideas. While mediation involves conflict mediators or multipliers who focus on both parties to the conflict, conflict coaching focusses on the conflict management of one of the two parties. Only in this way can a result be achieved that meets with acceptance among the employees and ideally represents the origin of a non-violent development.
