Methodology and Didactics: Resilience Seminar

The resilience training is characterised by its practical, experiential exercises. These are prepared by means of trainer input, individual and partner work. Group exercises, a moderated exchange of experiences and training documents complete the methodical, didactic design in this workshop.

What are the Seven Pillars of Resilience in our resilience training?

In our resilience seminar you will learn how to apply the 7 pillars of resilience to your personal situation. The pillars can be divided into four basic attitudes and three practices:

  1. Acceptance: Acceptance describes two different facets. On the one hand, it is about accepting external circumstances that cannot be changed. The energy required to bring about change would not be in proportion to the potential added value. On the other hand, personal restrictions have to be accepted in order to deal with oneself more graciously and calmly.
  2. Attachment: People have a need for close and intact relationships with their fellow human beings. Connections to others create a sense of security. Bonds with our environment take place on the relationship level as well as on the subject level.
  3. Solution orientation: A solution-oriented attitude reflects a constructive basic attitude towards psychological stress. Solutions are always to be found in such a way that they are simple, realistic and positively formulated. Managers and employees are equally challenged here in everyday work.
  4. Optimism: An optimistic attitude should include a realistic view of things that also takes pessimism into account. Practising gratitude helps to constantly steer one's gaze in the direction of encouragement.
  5. Self-awareness: The ability to perceive the signals of one's own body is essential. In a second step, they have to be classified with regard to your self-management in order to finally be able to deal with yourself in a mindful way.
  6. Self-reflection: Self-reflection goes beyond self-awareness and serves to gain a better understanding of oneself. A meta-perspective is adopted in order to recognise personal reactions, emotional and thought patterns. Based on this insight, processes of change can be initiated.
  7. Self-efficacy: Self-efficacy is the understanding that effects can be created through one's own actions. In terms of personal and occupational health management, this means strengthening the belief that one can have a positive impact on a difficult day at work. Becoming aware of this sovereignty and strength is an effective instrument for further personal development.
