Description: Feedback Seminar

Giving and receiving feedback is sometimes not so easy, especially as a manager. Appreciative communication is an important part of constructive communication. Do you know your personal weaknesses and do you know how to apply the feedback rules? Do you approach your employees on a relational level during performance feedback or critique meetings? The first thing you learn is that there is no criticism, only feedback. • We show you how to remain friendly and honest even when dealing with emotional topics without hurting your counterpart.
  • In our feedback seminar, you will also learn the differences between self-assessment and how others perceive you, basic elements of body language and how to successfully lead constructive criticism discussions.
  • Further development through feedback: You will learn how to receive and reflect on feedback in a sensitive manner and thus constructively develop your self-image by changing your behaviour.
  • In our feedback seminar you will learn how to convey appreciation and support to colleagues and business partners through appropriate feedback.

Methodology and Didactics: Feedback Seminar

In our seminar for feedback, you will receive important basic knowledge in order to use the effective factors of feedback for both employee and company growth. In addition, the feedback rules learnt there are suitable for creating a transaction analysis and being able to interpret behavioural patterns or a change in behaviour. Basic knowledge is also imparted on self-image and the image of others as well as in the area of self-reflection. Finally, you can practise what you have learned in practical exercises to promote interaction with other managers or employees. Role-playing during the feedback seminar ensures that you train how to conduct conversations among colleagues as well as supervisors and managers.

Target group of the feedback seminar

The objective of our feedback seminar is to understand and respect each other in a corporate hierarchy. Therefore, the target group is broad and is not only aimed at managers and HR developers with leadership responsibility, but also at professionals, employees, colleagues and even customers. With the targeted use of feedback while observing various feedback rules, you express feedback confidently.

What is feedback?

One thing is certain: the business world thrives on feedback. This is feedback from others on one's own behaviour. Dealing with feedback received is therefore a method of self-reflection, as long as the counterpart, for example the HR developer, plays by the rules. Feedback is often used by managers in particular to initiate personal learning processes among employees, to communicate mistakes and to increase motivation.

Why is feedback so important?

Supervisors who give feedback know the impact of constructive criticism. They increase the interaction with their employees and ensure a successful, appreciative working atmosphere with a healthy amount of performance feedback. The effective factors of comprehensible feedback not only ensure the (personal) further development of the counterpart. The mode of action also increases productivity through behavioural changes. If certain feedback rules are adhered to, critical discussions and feedback and the resulting appreciative interaction can lead to higher employee satisfaction.

5 feedback rules

  1. Ask yourself more often how you look to the people around you. Your self-assessment is only one side of the coin. Ask others to get a glimpse of how you are perceived by others.
  2. Performance feedback is a gift - so use it according to the feedback rules and do not use it to reprimand others. Also, separate the factual level from the relationship level.
  3. Maintain a respectful attitude, because this is also part of the effect of your feedback as a subliminal message and can either support or question your credibility.
  4. Leadership responsibility also includes admitting weaknesses. You are not only a leader, but a human being like any other. When you reprimand others as a leader, you should first consider the possible impact in a transactional analysis and think about the other person's motives.
  5. When asking for performance feedback or feedback, you should discard negative behavioural patterns and remember that it is your work and not you as a person that is the content of the criticism discussion. Discussions on a relationship level certainly do not increase productivity.
